November Shows

So we have a couple shows coming up for this month that should turn out to be pretty fun.

Last weekend we played at The Blvd in Paramount which was a neat show. We were lagging it pretty bad so we pretty much showed up, set up, and played. Shout out to the dude that said he liked us.

This weekend we'll be playing with Empires again at the Boys N Girls Club in LA. Pretty excited about this one, here's all the info via cute little flyer:

And on the 21st we'll be playing a backyard show in Pomona. Usually P Town gets down, so we're also stoked about this. Here's another cute little flier:

Stay tuned for more updates, come out and have some fun with us at these shows, and spread the word about Pieces so we don't show up at shows and have everyone look at us like "Who the fuck are these kids?"

:]

Project Procrastinate

Before I begin a sarcastic monologue about how shitty of a band we are, I want to talk about marijuana. It does NOT and never HAS inspired or invoked the creation of better music than that of a sober state of mind. It does, however, make band practice more fun.

StopaniFest 2009 was pretty legit. We were stoked to see everyone singing along and moving to the garbage we call music. Thanks to everyone who showed up, a middle finger to those who did not.

We have a couple shows lined up for Halloween and some in November. Come support us and all that cute mushy shit.

If you have not seen Paranormal Activity, don't. It's the scariest fucking movie we've ever seen. It was awesome.

We're recording! Again! We've been writing a couple more songs and they sound as good as tits. We're pretty excited to lay them down this coming Thursday for our first official EP. If anyone does vinyl pressing, or knows someone who does pressing please contact us ASAP. This is serious, I hope you just gasped as you read this paragraph.

Keep your eyes peeled, and your mouths fucking shut.

Seeking: Inspiration

So as you all may or probably may not know, we have a show tonight - StopaniFest - at Stopani's house. We're playing with some heavy hitter bands like Verse, Ceremony, Bane, Final Fight, and Paramore.

But then we woke up.

So we just ran through the set and it sounds super tight and official (pronounced oh-fish-aal) and we think you're all going to like it. Because you're all going to the show, right? We're packing up right now and we have no idea how we're going to get 2 half stacks, a bass amp, a drum set, guitars, and a PA about 5 miles down Valley blvd. :/

We're writing new stuff and planning to record some stuff so we're asking you, THE FANS, to help us get some inspiration. Please send this to our email (pieceshc@gmail.com) in the form of poem, mp3, Word Document, powerpoint, and/or n00dz.

See you at the show!
Say hi, we're not douchebags... we think.

Fuhhhh!

:D WOW, Yesterday at the Black Top was the shiznit, I have to say it was one of the best shows I've played so far in my band career. I've always been more comfortable being a solo drummer to not worry about who I play with or who I give my time to, but wow did that change. when I saw the crowd that filled up the room, the pit we had, It just made me wanna Play more with these guys. I definitely look forward to playing more shows, making more songs, and making this band the only one I give my real time to.
:)

Shows, bros, and hos?

Well, the picture is otherwise irrelevant... but in our opinion, beautiful woman are always a relevant topic of discussion. Moving On.

Today we practiced, I lagged it about 3 hours but I did show up, and we're officially "gig-ready."
Just booked a show at the Blacktop on Oct 10th with Heavy Hitters and our good homies All We Know, which should turn out to be a really fun time. I suppose this is our new first show since it's before StopaniFest on Oct 16?

We made the 6th addition to our arsenal of brutality today, and polished up on a song we had written about 2 practices ago. That gives us a decent length set so we can finally get up on stage and unleash the rage to all you people dealing with relationship problems, shitty jobs, strict parents, and any other bullshit life throws at you. We feel ya.

Ivan needs to get on it with memorizing those lyrics so he doesn't end up singing Easy E lyrics to one of our songs... again. But don't tell him I told you. Other than that the set sounds pretty tight and we're all anxious to get out and have ourselves some good, old fashioned, stage diving fun.
We do expect stage dives, by the way.

In conclusion, we're continuing our progress and we're more than ready to get this thing up and running. Music is a huge part of our lives and we're ready to make this band a living, breathing entity, spawn of the discontent and distrust we have with the world we live around. Cuz we don't give a fuck!

nick is a fag

Guess what

Today we had an unexpected practice and some random ass fool named Jesus rolled up on a black beach cruiser. We were like "Hey, do you play guitar?" And he said no. But he's our new guitarist now. He's such a crust.

But actually, we do have a new guitarist named Jesus, and he's showing potential, putting us closer to being ready for shows.

We spat out a new song today too and I have to say the chords are literally a bunch of random clusters of sound packaged to be a song. You'll love it.

Stay tuned, we'll keep you updated on our slow and completely boring progress.

Writing

We're working on new songs, and lyrics should follow soon. Anyone got any ideas for what the new songs are about? My strategy on writing so far has been to just fill in the blanks... "Fuck _____ and fuck ______" Effective.

Also was thinking about experiementing with breakdowns at 47bpm. I know, br00tal right?

We're back...

Pieces, formerly known as More To Come, has officially begun.

We took a long break from playing and we all sort of looked to each other and said "...I really miss fucking playing." We didn't want to continue a project we didn't all have our hearts set on though. Naturally we decided to change the name and PJ, our new drummer stepped in filling in the gap. Thus began the writing process and our first practice we shit out a song. Next practice was equally as productive and a few days later we came to Divine Recordings and layed them down. Yesterday, we had them up on myspace.

We've gotten alot of positive feedback from everyone and we really do appreciate. We love the stuff we've made and you know we'll be kickin' out the same intensity that these songs have in the future.

Now that we've hit the ground running back into the scene, we're going to keep writing and start playing some shows again sometime soon. This isn't a joke. We're a hardcore band and we live for this.
